I understand that The Cat House on the Kings ("The Cat
House") has spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FELV, administered vaccinations
due, de-wormed, applied flea treatment, and completed routine
examinations to ensure the cat/kitten is in good health. I agree The
Cat House is not responsible for any medical bills incurred by
the cat/kitten for illness that may manifest later. However, if
the cat/kitten does not eat, use the litter box or displays other signs of
illness within the first week of bringing him/her home, I agree to
contact The Cat House immediately to discuss my options, which include
returning the cat/kitten to The Cat House, bringing the cat/kitten back
to The Cat House for veterinary care or taking the cat/kitten to my own
vet at my own expense. I understand that if I cannot afford to pay the
medical bills required for the cat/kitten that I will return him/her
to The Cat House.
I, , hereby agree that the cat/kitten is being adopted by
me solely as a pet for myself. I agree that
I will not sell, give away or otherwise dispose of the cat/kitten to
any person(s), dealer, retailer, auction, institute or any other
entity for any reason. I will also not abuse
the cat/kitten.
If the cat/kitten is lost, I agree to contact The Cat House on the Kings by e-mail to info@cathouseonthekings.com within 24 hours.
(A higher success rate of finding a
lost cat/kitten occurs within this timeframe.) The Cat House will
advise in the search.
If for any reason I cannot keep or care for the cat/kitten, I will
contact The Cat House immediately to arrange for his/her return at no
charge. I will not surrender the cat/kitten to a
shelter, another rescue organization or third party.
I agree to take the cat/kitten to a vet or low-cost clinic on as-needed
basis. This could be more than once a year.
I am aware of the long-term commitment I am making in this adoption
and I agree to care for the cat/kitten for the rest of his/her life,
which may be 20+ years.
I agree to provide a veterinarian reference to a Cat House
representative before the adoption is finalized.
I agree that the cat/kitten will not be declawed. I agree to keep the cat/kitten indoors at all times to the extent that the surrounding premises may be hazardous to the cat/kitten's well-being, for example, an outdoor area close to the street or where the cat/kitten may become prey for wildlife.
I agree to follow the recommended introduction procedure
as explained to me in order to give the cat/kitten the best
chance to bond with the members of my household and his/her new
surroundings as well as to reduce the chance of stress and any consequential
illness. At a minimum, this procedure includes: a) “Confinement” of
at least two days in a small area, such as a bathroom; and b) a slow
“Introduction” to any current pets in my home over a period of two weeks
or longer as needed for all of the animals to accept each other.
I will keep a collar with up-to-date ID tags on the cat/kitten at all times.
If the cat/kitten is returned without his/her AKC/microchip ID tags, there will be a $20 fee to cover the cost of replacements.
I agree as part of this adoption, representatives of The Cat House may visit my home by appointment to check on the welfare of the cat/kitten.
I understand that the above statements constitute a contract between the undersigned and The Cat House on the Kings, and if the above conditions are not met, or if inaccurate or unverifiable information has been provided, The Cat House retains the right to reclaim the cat/kitten. I understand that access to my property to repossess this animal is not an act of trespassing.
I agree that the actions of animals may be unpredictable and that The Cat House makes no representations as to the behavior and temperament of the cat/kitten. I agree to accept possession of the cat/kitten at my own risk and hereby release and waive any right against The Cat House on the Kings now or in the future for any damages to person(s) or property caused by the cat/kitten.
I acknowledge that I am adopting a living animal that may have
behavioral or health problems that have not been discovered by The Cat
House on the Kings. I agree to contact The Cat House on the Kings to
discuss any issues which I may discover and that if I choose not to
return the cat/kitten, I accept full financial responsibility for the
animal. I agree to fully comply with paragraph #1 of this adoption
contract.
I understand that if I decide to return the cat/kitten within 2 weeks of the adoption date that the adoption fee will be refunded in full. Further, unless I have called The Cat House to document a problem that I am trying to work out, if I decide to return the cat/kitten at a date later than 2 weeks there will be no refund whatsoever.
I UNDERSTAND THAT THE CAT HOUSE HAS INVESTED A GREAT DEAL OF RESOURCES INTO THE CARE, TREATMENT AND PLACEMENT OF THE PET, THAT THE CAT HOUSE MAKES A COMMITMENT TO THE PET FOR LIFE AND THAT THE ACTUAL DAMAGES ACCRUING TO THE CAT HOUSE IN THE EVENT I FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT WOULD BE DIFFICULT TO PROVE WITH CERTAINTY. ACCORDINGLY, I AGREE THAT IN THE EVENT OF A BREACH OF THIS AGREEMENT, I SHALL PAY LIQUIDATED DAMAGES TO THE CAT HOUSE IN THE AMOUNT OF $500.00, NOT AS A PENALTY, BUT AS A REASONABLE ESTIMATE BY THE PARTIES AS TO THE DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE BREACH OF THIS AGREEMENT.
